Growing up as the son of Heinz Berggruen - a prominent German art collector, friend to Pablo Picasso, lover to Frida Kahlo - art has unmistakably been a part and a privilege of Nicolas Berggruen’s vita.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Alain Servais – a notorious and well-known collector who lives and resides in Brussels, Belgium. Everything but naive, Mr. Servais is known for having an outspoken opinion and realistic view on the functioning of the art market.

We meet Michael Kinsbergen at the Byzantium tower in the heart of Amsterdam, a building designed by Rem Koolhaas with views on the ever-vibrant Vondelpark. This is where Michael lives, together with his wife Ulrike and their 5-month old Dachshund Pim– Ulrike fell in love with the dog on a recent trip to New York and could not stop thinking about it upon returning home.
Giovanni Springmeier started collecting art at a young age, and the Gnyp/Springmeier collection today encompasses works from artists all over the world in media ranging from sculpture, to photography and painting. Largely made up of contemporary art, the Springmeier’s home provides a welcoming and lively surrounding for the public to experience the vast array of vibrant artworks.
